This unusual, dream-like saga directed by Liselle Bailey affords Carollina Cherry a rare opportunity as leading lady (rather than just part of the femme porn ensemble), convincing as a damsel distress for the label.
She returns from France to London where she once worked but is immediately set on a spiralling downward path when her taxi ride from the airport breaks down. Soon she is mugged, finds herself with both unsavory characters and Good Samaritans and even a one-night stand in a nightclub bathroom (with Brit Porn mainstay Luke Hardy) en route to a surprise happy ending akin to just waking up from a nightmare. Amber Jayne leads a solid femme supporting cast that includes Candee Licious definitely cast against type as a lady mobster, who dresses in lingerie rather than going butch. Bailey’s ability to make such porn tales seem real (sort of) is uncanny, a combination of plenty of realistic locations and good acting. Cast speaks alternately French or English, with dubbing creating a choice of either language track. I don’t know if fans appreciate the director’s skill, or if they merely watch for the content, but Liselle’s employment by for over two dozen features so far represents an amazing accomplishment.
